DIY Project #3: Amigurumi

Easter is coming! I learn to make amigurumi (Japanese crocheted stuffed toy), and for my first one, I decided to make this cute bunny!

Making amigurumi is not difficult. You only need to know these simple stitches: chain stitch (ch), single crochet stitch (sc), slip stitch (for the end of each row), increase & decrease (inc & dec) in single crochet (sc).

Even though the stiches are simple, amigurumi is pretty small, so you need to be careful in order not to miss any stitches. You can turn this doll into a keychain or phone charm, it also makes a cute gift.

You can find a lot of free amigurumi patterns online, and I’ll also share mine in this post. First, these are some things you need to make this bunny:
  • White yarn
  • 1.6 mm crochet hook (no. 1), or larger if you want to make larger doll
  • Needle
  • Black & white embroidery floss
  • 2 black beads for the eyes
  • Red colored pencil to make the cheek red
  • Fiberfill
  • Dog slicker brush, to make the bunny fuzzy (optional). This can help you cover some messy stitches ;)
Now, let's make each part of the bunny!

Head:
R1: 2 ch, 6 sc in second ch from hook
R2: 2 sc in each stitch around
R3: 1 sc , 2 sc in next stitch, repeat 6 times
R4: 2 sc, 2 sc in next stitch, repeat 6 times
R5: 3 sc, 2 sc in next stitch, repeat 6 times
R6: 4 sc, 2 sc in next stitch, repeat 6 times
R7: 5 sc, 2 sc in next stitch, repeat 6 times
R8: 6 sc, 2 sc in next stitch, repeat 6 times

R15: 1 dec, 5 sc, repeat 6 times
R16: 1 dec, 4 sc, repeat 6 times
R17: 1 dec, 3 sc, repeat 6 times
This is the time to brush the head if you want to make a fuzzy bunny.
Attach the eyes and embroider the nose. Stuff fiberfill into the head.
R18: 1 dec, 2 sc, repeat 6 times
R19: 1 dec, 1 sc, repeat 6 times
Continue to stuff the head.
R20: 6 dec

Ears (make 2):
R1: Ch 2, 7sc in second ch from hook.

Floating Market Lembang

Several days ago, my friends and I went to Floating Market Lembang. Have you been there?

It’s a new (about 2 months old) tourist attraction in Lembang, West Java, Indonesia. In this place you can enjoy beautiful nature, well, partly human-made, and various food. You can also ride a boat, feed rabbits, or just hang out with your friends and family.

You need to pay IDR10000 to enter this place, and they will give you a cup of free drink. Inside, you need to exchange your money with coins that will be needed to do all transactions (buy food, souvenirs, etc). But you need to know what you want to buy first, and then get the coins that you need, because the coins CAN’T be re exchanged to money. No need to worry, it’s easy to spot the stalls where you can get the coins, so you don’t have to do it at the entrance area.

When you get in, you will see this beautiful scene. The so called Floating Market itself is located across the lake. You don’t have to directly go there because you can also buy food in the traditional buildings surrounding the lake.

I bought this soto ayam with rice for IDR30000 at Soto Po (which is located near the entrance) after getting the exact amount of coins that I needed. After having our lunch, the rain started falling, so we had to just sit and waited for some time. The rain just wouldn’t stop, so we decided to just… walk through the shower rain. Haha.

To get to the Floating Market area, you can: 1. rent a boat and ride across the lake, or 2. walk around the lake. I prefer walking because I’m not a big fan of boat, and also there are a lot of things you can see while you’re taking the walk… like these cute ducks (?) and super cute Korean boy (??).

In the Floating Market area, there are a lot of people selling things on small boats.

They mostly sell food, but I also spotted this ‘green’ boat selling potted plans. So cute.

You can sit and enjoy the view and your food here, but it was so crowded when I was there... Also a good place for you who enjoy people-watching.

Tips: when you visit this place, don’t forget to bring your camera. It is also recommendable to bring umbrella and wear a jacket.

PS: When we were on our way home the sky was so beautiful ~~ I was like "wow!" so I took a pic :)

Taeyeon (SNSD 태연) - And One (그리고 하나) - That Winter The Wind Blows OST

The new soundtrack from "That Winter The Wind Blows" is released! A beautiful song, a beautiful voice (yeah it's Taeyeon), and beautiful lyrics! Enjoy!

Hangeul & Romanization:

swibge sangcheo badgo swibge nunmulnago swibge apedeon nal gieoghanayo
jigeumdo geuraeyo yeojeonhi katayo ireon nal bomyeon eotteolkkayo

swibge doraseodo swibge meoreojyeodo swibge ijji mothal geurael arayo
yeojeonhi ireon nal ajikdo ireon nareul bondamyeon babora hagettjyo

wonhago wonhaeyo geurigo hana apeugo apado geuraedo hanbeon
dalgo darhajindedo nunmuri mareuji anhado cheoeumeuro doragal su itdamyeon

cheoeum majuchyeotdeon geuttae geu sigani wonmangseureowo jil ttaedo isseoyo
gakkeumeun iraeyo geuriumjocha heorak andoemyeon sumdo mot swimyeonseo

wonhago wonhaeyo geurigo hana apeugo apado geuraedo hanbeon
dalgo darhajindedo nunmuri mareuji anhado cheoeumeuro doragal su itdamyeon

hokshina hokshina geudaedo hanbeon saldaga saldaga jeogeodo hanbeon
gakkeumeun nae saenggage gaseum sirin nari ittnayo hokshina saldaga jeogeodo hanbeon

geurigo hana igeotman gieoghaeyo gaedaemanirado jedaero sarajwoyo

hokshina hokshina geudaedo hanbeon saldaga saldaga jeogeodo hanbeon

gakkeumeun nae saenggage gaseum sirin nari ittnayo hokshina saldaga jeogeodo hanbeonjjeumeun

English translation:

I'm someone who was easily
scarred, easily cried, easily got hurt, do you remember?
Now I’m still like that, just like before
How if you see me like this

Although you easily turn away,
easily get farther apart
I know I won’t easily forget you
If you see me, still the same as before, still like that
You may call me a fool

I want and want you, and one more thing
I hurt and hurt but still, just once
Even if it wears out and wears out
Even if the tears don’t dry
If only we can go back to the beginning ~

There are times when I hate
the moment we first faced each other
Sometimes I'm like this,
If I don't allow myself to long for you,
I can't breathe

I want and want you, and one more thing
I hurt and hurt but still, just once
Even if it wears out and wears out
Even if the tears don’t dry
If only we can go back to the beginning ~

Maybe, just maybe,
at least once, in your life
If sometimes there are days when you think about me,
your heart aches because of me
Maybe, at least once, in your life

And one more thing, remember this
Even if it’s only you, you should live properly

Maybe, just maybe,
at least once, in your life
If sometimes there are days when you think about me,
your heart aches because of me
Maybe, at least once, in your life...

Herstoria: Moving On

For that woman, the clock stopped ticking two years ago. But she didn’t know, not until now, when the clock starts ticking again.

That woman was taking one step, two steps, three steps, but it was one step, two steps forward, and three steps backward, so she never actually moved forward.

Today, she can finally take a step, walk, and run again.

Korean Celebrities with Similar Faces

I was watching Hundred Years Inheritance and looking at Kim Chul Goo (Choi Won Young), and I suddenly thought that he looks like Lee Kwang Soo...

Choi Won Young & Lee Kwang Soo

See the resemblance?

Because I had toO much time on my hands, I started to think about korean actor/actress who looks like another korean actor/actress... Haha. Let's see what I got!

Park Shin Hye & Yoon Eun Hye

When I first saw Park Shin Hye in You're Beautiful as Go Mi Nam, I thought she was Yoon Eun Hye. She looked exactly like Eun Chan (Yoon Eun Hye in Coffee Prince). Hard to tell who is who in the photo above.

Yoon Shi Yoon & Lee Jun Ki

Yoon Shi Yoon and Lee Jun Ki are both great actors, they both have a lot of fans, and they both have the same face. Haha. Brothers?

Yoo Seung Ho & So Ji Sub

We all know Yoo Seung Ho is little So Ji Sub. Well, he's not 'little' anymore, he's grown up now, and he looks as handsome as big So Ji Sub. They filmed CF and music videos together, and maybe someday, a drama?

PSY & Song Joong Ki

When I first read the article about this, I thought it was a joke. PSY and Song Joong Ki? But when I looked at the picture, OMO, they really look alike!

Go Kyung Pyo & Choi Siwon

When my friend and I were watching Operation Proposal, he asked me: "Is that Siwon?". But, no, it's Go Kyung Pyo!

Jo In Sung and Jang Geun Suk

Jo In Sung and Jang Geun Suk totally look alike. Especially when they smile. However, they have different kind of charisma, so I guess they also have different fans. Which one is your favorite?

Son Ye Jin and Han Ga In

I was watching The Classic and saw Son Ye Jin. She looked exactly like Han Ga In in the movie, well, just add cute little mole on her nose and Ta-da!

I'll update this post when I find more, or maybe you can help me with this list. Don't be shy to leave a comment below! :)

Saying Goodbye to Flower Boy Next Door

I hate goodbye. But the flower boy next door has moved so I can no longer peep into his apartment.
...

Okay, I'm sorry. That was too much. I mean the drama "Flower Boy Next Door" has come to an end so I need to move on to another drama.

Goodbye, Flower Boy Next Door, goodbye, cute Yoon Shi Yoon ~

The flower boy becomes an Italian mafia

The drama (spoiler alert!) ends happily (of course). Go Dok Mi becomes Enrique Geum's world, and Enrique becomes Go Dok Mi's world. And the other characters find their own happiness too... Everybody's happy. So, yay!

One person cannot change the world.
But you can become the world for someone.
A warm, bright, and peaceful world.
If everyone can be such a world to one person
one will become ten people,
and then a hundred.
The world will be full of happy people then.

Enrique's world, Go Dok Mi.
Go Dok Mi's world, Enrique.

Ah~ so happy~~
Have you found that someone who becomes your world?

And the special thing about this drama is there are a lot of nice monologues and dialogues, which are rarely found in other Korean dramas :)

Love is giving up half of yourself and filling it up with someone's half.
Love is two incomplete halves coming together.
- Enrique Geum
