KDrama to Watch: You're All Surrounded

Dear all Cha Seung Won fans and Dokko Jin lovers, let's all hug and cry happy tears together because HE'S BACK!

We can finally see him again every Wednesday and Thursday night, in SBS drama titled "You're All Surrounded". His movie "High Heels" is also coming soon this June, but we'll get to that later.

If you live in Dramaland, I believe lately you have nightmare everyday. Because almost ongoing dramas these days are too emotional, dark, thrilling, giving-you-headache kind of dramas. You may also find it hard to choose because there are a lot of new dramas coming your way. Let me tell you, "You're All Surrounded by Hot Police" is the answer. Even it's not pure comedy (because there are still blood, angry people, revenge), at least it feels like a refreshing drama (for your mind and your eyes) that will make you fall in love.

Why?

Cha Seung Won. I don't even have to tell you why. It's obvious, he's Cha Seung Won. The hottest ahjussi out there.

Lee Seung Gi. He's Yoona's, but he's also loved by every kdrama fangirls I know.

Ahn Jae Hyun. Cheon Song Yi's adorable brother. Eye candy. Handsome and cute. It's unfair.

Go Ara. Tough girl. Leaving Trash Oppa and Chilbongie to get Lee Seung Gi (virtual high five if you watch Reply 1994 and love it).

Hot men in uniform. Guns. Nuff said.

Most of the first episode is like Reply 2003 (spot Kim Dongwan and Shin Hyesung!) because they want to show you why Kim Ji Yong (Lee Seung Gi) becomes a policeman. His mother is killed because she stood as a witness in court for a murder case. The detective who handle that case was Seo Pan Suk (Cha Seung Won). He tried to convince Ji Yong's mother to stand as a witness and said he would protect her from the bad men who threatened her. He obviously failed to keep his promise, and Ji Yong thought he was one of the bad men (yes, things make it look like he's one of them but I still think it's a misunderstanding). Grown up Ji Yong came back with new identity, Eun Dae Gu, new recruits in the violent crime unit at Gangnam Police Station and worked under Seo Pan Suk. What will happen? Just watch it because I don't know. Only first two episodes are out, so watch it while it's hot!

PS: Dingdong appeared as a cameo too. Remember this kid from The Greatest Love? Still cute and chubby! :)))

Life Lately: Doodling, Crocheting, Munching Food

It's been almost 2 months since I bought Samsung Galaxy Note II, and I've made some more drawings using Sketchbook Mobile X.

I posted this on my tumblr about Shinhwa because I talked too much about them on this blog.

Anyone recognize them?

Made this for SHCJ Indonesia's 3rd Anniversary tomorrow

Honestly I made a lot of drawings of Shinhwa...

Jay Chou, as requested by a friend who believes they'll somehow end up together

Cha Seung Won, my all-time-favorite Korean Actor

Addicted to this drama, The Master's Sun

I also participated in a drawing contest by Green Tea Graffiti and yesterday I received an email that I'm one of the winners. Yipeeeee! They'll send me the prize from Korea. I think they didn't know that I lived in Indonesia when they chose me, I'm crossing my fingers hoping they won't say, "You're too far come and get your own prize."

I also (finally) finished my second amigurumi.

The most difficult part is finding the suitable pot for the cactus. Accidentally saw this cute little bucket at Opus One and bought it without second thought. Anyone want the pattern for the cactus?

This bunny is my first amigurumi, you can find the pattern here.

And... food.

Full Monty & Thai Lemongrass Beef Salad

I went to Hummingbird Eatery, located at Jl. Progo no. 14, Bandung. It was actually not my first visit, but it was the first time I took some pics of what I ordered there, so as usual I'll share them on my blog.

I went there with my family to have brunch. The breakfast menus are served at 7-11am and we were there at 10.30am. We ordered Full Monty (a complete breakfast set) from the breakfast menus and some drink. Other dishes: crepes, salad, soup, grazing, main course, are served at 10.30am-10.30pm according to their website but the waitress told me that I have to wait until 10.40am to order, so we waited and then ordered Thai Lemongrass Beef Salad, Traditional Rendang Hitam, Tenderloin Steak, and Grilled Creamy Salmon. We left with full and happy stomach heart.

Doodling on Samsung Galaxy Note 2

So I know Galaxy Note 2 is not something new, and even Galaxy Note 3 is coming soon, but I just bought it last week because my Blackberry was broken. And because BBM will be available for android too, I decided to buy Galaxy Note 2. Galaxy Note 2 has S Pen and large screen, that's why I prefer it to Galaxy S4.

For the sake of my job, I looked for drawing application for my phone, and after some googling I decided to download several (of-course-free) apps, trying them all, and I fell in love with SketchBook X.

I supposed to use this drawing app to make my work as an architect and designer easier, but I ended up making these...

Anyway I really love my new phone and please look forward for more doodles later ~

Stay Strong, Cha Seung Won

"I consider myself as fence surrounding my children. All I can do is protect and prepare them until when it's time for them to go out and face the world." - Cha Seung Won, Joo Byung Jin's Talk Concert (2011).

I'm crying with you, Cha Seung Won. But, please stay strong... This too, shall pass.

Upcoming K-drama to Look Forward to: The Sun of My Master

So Ji Sub is coming back! *freaking out*

I am so looking forward to his comeback after Ghost, and he will be back with Hong Sister's new drama: The Master's Sun (주군의 태양 / The Sun of My Master / The Sun of the Lord). Moreover, his partner is Gong Hyo Jin, which leaves me a deep impression after The Greatest Love. Oh, lucky lady, first Cha Seung Won, and now So Ji Sub?

Glad So Ji Sub choose his drama for his comeback. Horror, fantasy, romance, comedy. This is just what So Ji Sub's fans need after Ghost and A Company Man, right? kekeke~

Looking good, So Ji Sub, looking good. How come he doesn't get older? In fact, he looks younger... XD

The first episode will be aired on July 31, after I Hear Your Voice ends. Well, I'm actually a bit sad that my favorite drama at this moment will end soon, but hey, I'm sure this drama will be awesome too! Why?

Great cast: So Ji Sub (Sorry I Love You, Ghost etc), Gong Hyo Jin (Pasta, The Greatest Love etc), Seo In Guk (Love Rain, Rely 1997 etc), Kim Yoo Ri (Cheongdamdong Alice etc), Infinite's L / Kim Myung Soo (Shut Up Flower Boy Band etc).

Great writers: Hong Sisters (The Greatest Love, You're Beautiful, My Girlfriend is a Gumiho etc)

Great producer: Jin Hyuk (City Hunter, Shining Inheritance etc)

Great cast + great writers + great producer = AWESOMENESS

So, let's patiently wait for the first episode and I will post more about this drama then~ So Ganji! ^^b

Update: Since I Hear Your Voice will be extended by two episodes, I guess we will need to wait until next month tho watch The Sun of My Master. The first episode will be aired on August 7. Meanwhile, check out the teaser!

THANK YOU, SHINHWA, YOU'VE WORKED HARD

Ah… this week is the last week we can see Shinhwa on music programs… Well, they will perform in MCountdown Halo Indonesia on July 3, but they already had their goodbye stages, the last one is today on MBC's Music Core. I’m a little sad especially because Shinhwa Broadcast will take a break too to prepare a new season, and Shinhwa will be busy with their Asia tour. I’ll definitely miss them, but they also need some time to take a break and get enough sleep, right? Recently Eric has big bags under his sexy eyes. He looks tired, sleepwalking to TV station with yellow pillow around his neck. I know it’s cute, but still, he looks best when he’s full of energy and smiling brightly.

This year’s comeback is awesome. Both Shinhwa and SHCJs are happy. Shinhwa thanked SHCJs for the support, and I want to thank Shinhwa for all those wonderful, beautiful, sexy performances. You’ve worked hard, Shinhwa, and it’s all paid off. You did great and got the recognition you deserve. Now go home, drink some tonic, and go get yourselves some sleep, Ahjussis. Kekeke~

Ah, I submit this cartoon to mwave, please vote for it here! Thank you! ^^

Lee Jung Jin

I first saw him in the drama 9 End 2 Outs and then the award winning movie Pieta, and recently I'm watching Hundred Years Inheritance. He's Actor Lee Jung Jin! (@runjungjin). He's a great actor, always challenge himself with various characters and it makes you think whether he has multiple personality disorder. That's a compliment, he's that good.

So, as I always want to paint someone I admire, this time I made a caricature drawing for Lee Jung Jin.

Cha Seung Won

Made this caricature painting for Cha Seung Won, my favorite actor. Cha Seung Won will be back soon with a new movie, "High Heels" as a detective. I really can't wait!

Shinhwa's Eric

Made 6 painting these past three days, and two of them are Eric's. Keke. Totally obsessed with him, the nonsensical guy who has 4D personality. He's so weird but he never fails to charm people as the best leader of all Korean idol groups, the leader of Shinhwa who's making a comeback soon with their 11th album The Classic. Shinhwa has been together for 15 years now, with the same members when they debuted in 1998, and they're still going strong. Shinhwa jjang! Eric leader-nim jjang!

One of Eric's favorite pose. "Eric jjang!"

The second painting is Eric at Roygen signing event a while ago~
I put the painting on my binder.

Life Lately

Hello! It's been a while since my last post. There are a lot of things I've been doing:

First, I took a Japanese Cooking Class by Chef Makoto Miyamaguchi from (of course) Japan. There were about 100 participants, and the chef taught us how to make Dragon Roll Sushi, Tempura, Tuna Tataki, and Chicken Katsu. The recipes were printed out before and distributed when we arrived. Then, the chef starts cooking, telling us what to do and not to do in Japanese language, accompanied by a translator, MC, and another Indonesian chef. I was busy writing and scribbling and doodling~

After watching the demonstration, we were divided into smaller groups and we tried to make the dish.

Sorry for the mess. Haha. I need to make them again soon before I forgot what I've learned.

Second, I have a lot of puppy time.

The dog at my workplace got puppies! They're so adorable. Instead of working I spend so much time playing with them. Keke.

Any name ideas for the cute puppies? ^^

Third, I've been making more caricature paintings for my friends...

My desk is such a mess~

And, I've been watching Shinhwa Broadcast and their other videos all the time... I'm not actually into Kpop and boy bands (I love Kdrama and Running Man though), but... it's Shinhwa. Shinhwa is just different. They live up to their name, Shinhwa, meaning Legend. They're the longest running Korean boy band, and I'm pretty sure they will always be because they promised to be together as Shinhwa until for.e.ver. Yes, forever.

It's been 15 years since they debuted in 1998, they never disband and they never change members. You can see how much they value each others, how much they love their fans (Shinhwa Changjo), and moreover, they're hilarious. And the more you know them, the more you'll love them. I really can't wait for their 11th album, The Classic. It's coming SOON! (May 16th)

*update: the teaser is out: watch here!

And this is a random photo of Jco and bunny hanging out in my back yard~

Have a nice weekend!

Randomly Doing Random New Things

Merry Christmas! HO HO HO!
And also happy holidays. What’s your plan?

Lately I’ve been doing some new random things. I have so much fun.
First, I learn calligraphy. I made these birthday cards for my friends. They were disappointed. True story.

Second, I learn caricature. It’s because my friend wanted to give his senior a happy-resign gift, and he asked me whether I can make caricature. Actually, I don’t. I love drawing and painting, but never made caricature before. But well, I decided to try. I used watercolor on canson paper. This is the result. I won’t be there when he gives this to his senior, but I hope there will be no disappointed face. Amen.

And the last random thing is: I learn origami. Okay, this is way too random, but I saw a diagram to make a pretty flower from a piece of paper. It was pretty complicated at the first try, but finally I made it! Cute, right? I’m gonna make some more and arrange them into a beautiful bouquet of paper flowers. No, it's not a promise.

I made them from used paper (Go, Green, go!) and painted them. I took a photo of my watercolor and the palettes. I never washed them. Tips: just let it dry, you only need to drop some water the next time.

Well, enjoy your holiday by randomly doing random new things! I’m sure you’ll surprise yourself with what you can (or can’t) do! J

Life Lately

Because of the black and white paintings I made, I made some money. Not a lot, but still, I’m so happy. Long story short, I made some paintings for my friends and then they used them as their BBM profile pictures, and their friends asked them where they can get the paintings. This is so sudden and I still feel excited, because it’s actually just a hobby and I don’t think I’m really good at it, but people seem to like it.

And if you read my previous posts, I have a good news about my tomato plant, but I’m gonna let the picture tell you ^^

Cute, right? I think I’m going to cut it open and replant the seeds. I’ve bought some pots but still need to gather encouragement to dig and collect the soil because the last time I did it, it was a daytime nightmare (or a daymare? I think it’s not a word). I found monsters, or brave people may call them one big cockroach-look-alike family. No, I didn’t take a pic.

Oh, also, I buy some things from ASMAMA, a Korean online shopping site. It’s creepily cute, isn’t it? There are four colors of them, and I have 3 close girlfriends, so each of us uses one.

Talking about my girlfriends, they just got back from Singapore after watching F1 and the after-race music concert, and they bought me a cake from a store called Juucheim. It’s actually from Japan but the cake is German origin known as Baumkuchen.

I forgot to take a picture of the cake, but I took one of the cute biscuit that was included in the cake box. It doesn’t look like a biscuit, I even thought it was a magnet or a cute eraser. It tasted pretty good actually, but the red and white candy-like thing tastes so sweet I decided not to eat it (I do funny things when I’m sugar high). The good news is they use nature pigment for the biscuit. It says “Blue Spirulina, Red Lac, Brown Cacao Tamarind, Yellow Curcumin, Orange Paprika” on the ingredients label. It also says “Made in Vietnam”.

So I ate German origin cake from Japan origin store which opens in Singapore with a Vietnam origin biscuit. How cool is that?
