Let’s see some dramas with cute Yoon Shi Yoon as the main characters!
I first saw him in the hit drama “Baker King Kim Tak Gu”.
Have you seen it?
The rating for the drama is really high, so I think most of
k-drama addicts have seen it. The drama has more episodes (30) compared to other k-dramas (16 or 20), but I think that many episodes are needed to build
the storyline.
When you see the title, “Baker King Kim Tak Gu”, you must be
able to guess what the story’s about. Yup, a genius baker. Kim Tak Gu is an illegitimate child of a rich
(yet unhappy?) man who owns a big bakery corporation, but after being reunited
with his father, he was separated from his mother. He only knew that the man
who kidnapped her mom had windmill tattoo on his arm, so he left her father’s
house to find her mother and the kidnapper. He grew up alone on the street, and
finally found the man with the tattoo, who now works in a bakery. He tried to
get into the bakery, but however he tried, he couldn’t.
The owner of the bakery told him that if he wanted to go in,
he must be either a customer, or a worker. Because he was penniless, he then
tried hard to be a baker, which is actually his true calling, because Tak Gu has
extraordinary sense of smell. But of course, he has a rival Go Ma Joon (Joo Won), who actually is also his step brother.
If you haven’t, you should watch the drama. I’m not telling
you anymore because I’m going to move to another Yoon Shi Yoon’s drama, “Me
Too, Flower”.
In this drama, Yoon Shi Yoon, once again, becomes a genius.
This time, a genius bag designer, Seo Jae Hui. He’s very rich but due to some traumas
he experienced when he was a kid, he wants to live a quiet life as nobody. He
works behind the screen, but because he’s curious about his company, he works
there as a parking attendant. He falls in love with a female police officer,
Cha Bong Seon (Lee Ji Ah), who doesn’t know his true identity.
However, things
get complicated because Jae Hui has another woman (and a child!) he needs to be
responsible for. Who are they? Are you curious? Watch the drama! It has only
15 episodes.
Next, we’re going to the next door to see some flower boys…
I mean, I’m going to talk about Yoon Shi Yoon’s latest drama, “Flower Boy Next
Door”, which is an adaptation from a webtoon by Yoo Hyun-sook titled
"I Steal Peeks At Him Every Day" (나는 매일 그를 훔쳐본다).
It’s the third drama from tvN’s “Oh! Boy” series. The first one is
Flower Boy Ramyeon Shop (Jung Il Woo-hoo!), the second is Shut Up Flower Boy
Band (which I haven’t seen), and the third is this “Flower Boy Next Door”,
starring Yoon Shi Yoon and Park Shin Hye.
This time, Yoon Shi Yoon acts as Enrique Geum, who’s a game…
genius (I just realized it now, but why does he always act as a genius?). He’s
called the God of Gaming. He lives in Spain and went to Korea for a visit. He
lives in his friend’s apartment, but after some times he feels strange as if
someone is watching him. He then caught someone who lives in the next building
is peeping into the apartment using binoculars.
The one who’s peeping is Go Dok Mi (Park Shin Hye), a woman
who was a victim of bullying when she was a high school student. She lives her
quiet life in her small room as an editor, but hopes she will be a writer
someday. She rarely leaves her room, but one day she needed to shop so she went
out, and she met a man. It was love (?) at the first sight. That day after
buying things she needs, she won a lucky draw prize: yellow binoculars. When
trying to use the binoculars in her room, she looked outside the window and
spotted that man, living in the apartment in the next building.
It surely looks like destiny. So, she watches him everyday…
until a man in a panda hat caught her peeping…
"I am watching you!"
